Rio Grande Internal Medicine is a private, solo practice serving the needs of Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Corrales, Placitas, and surrounding communities.

Dr. Kevin J. Goodluck is an Internal Medicine specialist who has been in practice for over 33 years. He is a native New Mexican and has resided in the state for most of his life. Dr. Goodluck is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed to practice medicine in New Mexico by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Goodluck received his undergraduate degree at the University of New Mexico (UNM) and later received his Medical Degree from the School of Medicine at UNM. He completed an Internal Medicine internship at Presbyterian/St. Lukes Hospital in Denver.

Dr. Goodluck is an avid cyclist and you can see him riding to and from work or on the bike path on the weekends. He shares a passion with his wife in cycling. He has two grown sons that he is very proud of.

Laurie Goodluck, M.A.
Practice Manager

Laurie Goodluck is a University of New Mexico graduate, with a B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Counseling and Family Studies. Laurie’s career includes non-profit work for Futures for Children, establishing their Futures through Leadership program. Recently, Laurie worked for New Mexico Family Network, where she wrote parent leadership curriculum and trained families in self-advocacy for children with special needs. She served as a Board member for Educating Parents of Indian Children with Special Needs and served as a board member for Silver Bullet Productions in Santa Fe. Currently she began writing children's literature and is writing picture books with modern Native themes. Laurel Goodluck @ Full Circle Literary 

Laurie is proud to be part of creating Rio Grande Internal Medicine, PC, as owner and Vice President of the company, she enjoys working side by side with her husband and ensuring the day to day running of the clinic with quality and passion as the Practice Manager.

Watanya Nez
Insurance Biller

Watanya began as Medical Assistant at Rio Grande Internal Medicine. PC. She worked her way to Medical Receptionist and now to Insurance Biller. She is our senior staff member at our office and it is apparent from her sharp skills to master each front office positions at Rio Grande that she is an asset to our office. Not only has she trained numerous staff, in addition she has a wealth of knowledge in each of the positions and adds critical thinking to all her tasks that she takes great pride in problem solving.

Watanya grew up in the four corners area in New Mexico a Kirtland resident. Watanya graduated from PIMA Institute in 2013 with her Certification in Medical Assisting. Not only did Watanya graduate with Honors, but she was highlighted in the PIMA Medical Institute Albuquerque West Newsletter as “Successful Student” in their first graduating class. Watanya begin at Dr. Goodluck’s office in 2013 as an extern and was hired upon completion. We are fortunate to have Watanya’s leadership on our team going on her sixth.

Janice Baarde
Medical Receptionist

Janice is our Medical Receptionist at Rio Grande Internal Medicine, PC. She is the first person you see when you visit our office. She is responsible for checking patients in and out from their appointments, answer phones, and scheduling. Janice’s keen ability to organize, multi-task and relate to patients is evident in her work style and ethic. You can ask Janice about enrolling in our Patient Portal to further assist you in communication with our office.

Janice is from the Philippines. She’s been living here, in Albuquerque, since 2007 and is a resident of the United States. She graduated and received her Certificate, with Honors, at PIMA Medical Institute in 2015. Janice also did her exertnship at Dr. Goodluck’s office. We are also fortunate to have Janice on our team since November of 2015.
